Electrical Workshop
What we do

All donated White goods and Electrical household items are PAT Tested by a qualified Electrician and refurbished at our workshop and distributed to disadvantaged families in East Lothian.
Always in Demand

Washing Machines, Cookers, Fridges, Freezers, Fridge Freezers and Microwaves all these items must be in reasonable working condition.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

PAT testing does not involve maintenance of the equipment, it is the testing of the power supply, cable and wire from the socket to the equipment. It refers to anything that can be connected to a power socket. This includes items from a Bedside Lamp to a Washing Machine and kettle etc.

We undertake a seven point safety check including certification, labelling and identification of all appliances in accordance with the Electricity at Work Act (1989)
Training Opportunity.

This new opportunity also gives the Project the ability to extend the range of training, with basic white goods repairs, Portable Appliance Testing and basic electrical installation. This offers trainees and volunteers to add to their skills, whilst providing an improved service to the community.
